That is perfectly adequate...well, it would be if I actually saw them. Sure wish I could figure out what is stopping it on my computer. I perfectly understand everyone who sees those say "why isn't this OK?" It Certainly is. I'll just drop my request for background highlighting--causing too much "I don't understand."

(URL is only temporary.) I find this sufficient, though I imagine that the highlighting would serve my needs just as well.

As I said, "I do have website notifications turned on..." (all 4 of them) If it is not the popup blocker--and it seems that is not the issue--I don't know what is causing it. I have pop-ups blocked but I get these notifications. In the main menu go to Community / Preferences / My Profile and be sure you have Website Notifications turned on.

I don't know what would be blocking it. You might want to try signing on from a "clean" computer (public library?) to see if you see it there.

Have to go look for that--I don't get no popup. Oh wait. I have popup blocking turned on in the browser. I hate popups (although most sites now bypass that with some technique that puts a new window on top that takes complete control of the browser until you eliminate it) Thus, the background hilighting would be useful for those of us who block popups. The indicator number changing just does not catch my eye---inbox can sit there for days showing a "1" and I don't see it. Maybe I am the only one. And thanks much for noticing the new car. I have it turned off because I don’t have any trouble spotting a number >0 in those fields. If you need more than the number for notice, just turn on the pop-up.
