Hi,

I just signed up yesterday, and reported on a station I stopped at in Ohio on the way home to Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The problem is, the system signed me up now for OhioGasPrices dot com instead of my home state of Indiana. Making it worse, is that there does not appear to be a place for me to switch it over to Fort Wayne, Indiana in the profiles page.

With the country being as mobile as it is and people tending to relocation quite often, sometimes to other states, my suggestion is, to have a place in the user profile section to change home state sites when you log in.

Thanks for listening!

I agree that once you sign in for a site and ask that it be remembered, it's no big deal. I post gas prices for two distinct areas (based on my time in each of the areas), the Washington Metro Area (I'm a Marylander but I drive extensively in Maryland, Washington DC, and northern Virginia) as well as Northern Florida. I simply have a website link at the top of my page and can easily open any number of Gas Buddy sites with one click, and can post the prices for the area that I'm in (i.e., the DC Metro Area sites or the Florida area). The key to having multiple areas for which I post gas prices is to spend a little time to identify a Members Favorite Stations list.

I don't see signing in to each site that big of a deal. If you have your browser set up to save your sign in and ID when you do it once it's always there.

I would like to be able to bridge between different GB sites w/out having to re-sign in.

Personally, I don't see why this isn't a user option. A long time ago there was concern that people would be switching sites just to be at the top of the local points leader list but I think enough of the high point people have already moved around that this isn't an issue.

Also, there was some incorrect advice given regarding the ability to post prices outside of the local area. Using the map, you can post prices anywhere in the US using any site.

You home site is Fort Wayne. When you report a price in Ohio, you are signed into the Ohio site. You can't report an Ohio price from the Fort Wayne site. When you post a price for Fort Wayne, you are signed into the Fort Wayne site. You can't report a Fort Wayne price from the Ohio site.

Only the moderators can change the home site of a GB member. There are several reasons why they alone can do it.

Welcome to GB. Looks as if you got it changed anyway. :)
