One of my favorite memories was buying (and eating) the Buko Pies they used to sell from the roadside stands along the way from Manila to Pagsanjan Falls. Do they still sell them like that?

There were machine gun toting soldiers/guards in the hotel hallways. Wife was working at AMD and I went sight seeing everyday. Got to see museums,churches,Manila,tourist sights and a Jeepny assembly plant. The day we were departing Mr. Benigno Aquino,ex-President Mrs. Corizon Aquino's husband, returned from exile in USA and got shot and killed at Manila airport. This was probably back in 1984. Some places were gorgeous,like vfox says,and some you take your life in hand.My wife's coworker was going to celebrate his birthday with coworkers at a restaurant,he was a no show. Later on wife learned,this guy on the way to the party was stabbed by a fellow passenger on the Jeepny taxi,because the assailant felt challenged or somehow annoyed. The victim was not your little Phillipino. He had a body of a body builder!
